MRSA Treatments

Here you will find articles about various products that I personally used to recover from MRSA

The Heal Your Gut Cookbook…GAPS made easy

The Heal Your Gut Cookbook: Nutrient-Dense Recipes for Intestinal Health Using the GAPS Diet List Price: $29.95 Price: $22.42 You Save: $7.53 If you didn’t know it already, I consider the KEY to my successful recovery from recurring MRSA infections to be DIET. To be specific, the that was instrumental in my recovery from recurrent MRSA infections was the Gut and Psychology Syndrome diet (GAPS). Tell me more about the GAPS diet? Strengthening your immune system and increasing your general health and well-being is the goal of the GAPS diet. Its all about healing your body from the inside out but you need to be aware that this process will take time depending on how sick you are. But the fact is that the results are worth it. A strong and healthy immune immune system will be able to fight off MRSA and other infections and illnesses, leaving you to carry on with your life. The only downside is that the diet can be restrictive and so knowing how to make tasty, nutrtious meals that are GAPS approved can be difficult without a cookbook. The good news is that a great new cookbook has just been released and its called The Heal Your Gut Cookbook Can’t I just stick to the recipes from the original GAPS book? You could…but they are simple, basic, and not overly appetizing. That is why I strongly suggest getting a great GAPS cookbook such as The Heal Your Gut Cookbook. The great thing about this book is that you don’t have to come up with your own recipes, nor are you limited to the recipes in the original GAPS... read more

GAPS recipes made easy with the Internal Bliss cookbook

Internal Bliss - GAPS Cookbook (Recipes designed for those following the Gut and Psychology Syndrome Diet) Price: N/A You Save: N/A The KEY my successful recovery from recurring MRSA infections was DIET, specifically the Gut and Psychology Syndrome diet (GAPS). Want to know more? The aim of the GAPS diet is to strengthening your immune system by healing your body from the inside out. This process takes time depending on how sick you are. However, if immune system is strong you will be able to fight off various infections and illnesses including MRSA, time and time again. Does the original GAPS book contain helpful recipes? Helpful, yes…appetizing, not so much. That is why I strongly suggest getting a great GAPS cookbook such as Internal Bliss. The beauty of Internal Bliss is that you don’t have to come up with your own recipes, nor are you limited to the basic (but effective) recipes in the GAPS book. With Internal Bliss all the recipes are done for you and they are not only healthy but they are appetizing. Having a great GAPS cookbook like Internal Bliss makes it soooo much easier to stick with the diet and the longer you stick at it, the healthier you will become. Heal yourself from the inside out with the GAPS diet

Gut and Psychology Syndrome: Natural Treatment for Autism, Dyspraxia, A.D.D., Dyslexia, A.D.H.D., Depression, Schizophrenia List Price: $32.95 Price: $25.40 You Save: $7.55 The most important part of my recovery from recurring MRSA infections was DIET, specifically the Gut and Psychology Syndrome diet (GAPS). I’ve never heard of the GAPS diet…what’s it all about? This very healthy diet is all about healing your body from the inside out and strengthening your immune system and it takes time depending on how sick you are. Once your immune system is strong, you will be able to fight off MRSA again and again before infection takes hold. If you are really ill, the book suggests that you take your diet right back to broths. Depending on how weak your immune system is, this may or may not be required. Personally I just went to the next stage which involved removing a stack of “unhelpful” foods from my diet and adding others such as Organic raw milk, Sauerkraut, and other Probiotic rich foods. As your body heals, you can begin to add back in some of the foods that are removed at the start of the diet. BUT…you should only add in foods that are healthy and will be beneficial to you. Don’t add back “treats” just because you want to. I’m not saying you can’t have the occasional treat, but don’t make it a regular thing and avoid adding back treats until you have recovered. How long should I do the GAPS diet for? It is a lifestyle choice that you have to make. It is a healthy, healing diet but many people will find... read more

Thursday Plantation’s bar soap will leave you clean AND MRSA free

Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Skin Care Soap - 4 oz,(Nature's Plus) List Price: $3.85 Price: $7.50 You Save: N/A It’s a little known fact that that bacteria, including MRSA can actually be washed off right off the skin! Keep in mind though that Staph bacteria that have already entered the body and infected a wound site or created a boil can’t be simply washed away because they have “dug in”. The exciting news for those suffering from MRSA infections is that bacteria ON the the skin can be washed away! Can I really just “wash off” MRSA and what would the benefits be? Yes you can! If you have a shower and a bar of soap then that’s all you need to wash off a plenty of bacteria off your skin. However, to increase the effectiveness of this “bacterial wash” I personally suggest using a Tea Tree soap. This is based on my ow personal experience. My reasoning the based on the fact that Tea Tree is known to kill bacteria, including the nasty “superbug” MRSA. Therefore, you can reduce the number of bacteria present on your skin even further by using Tea Tree soaps. This is because any “hanger on-ers” will have to deal with the antibacterial qualities of the Tea Tree soap. So…its a double whammy! The benefit of washing with a Tea Tree soap is that the likelihood of infection is reduced because the number of bacteria on your skin has been reduced.  I personally that although washing in this manner didn’t prevent every bacterial attack, it certainly reduced the frequency of infections. Tea Tree oil displays antiviral,... read more

MRSA medicine…Thursday Plantation’s Tea Tree Oil kills bacteria!

Thursday Plantation 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil - 50 ml List Price: $24.55 Price: $19.19 You Save: $5.36 Tea Tree oil, also known as Melaleuca oil, is extracted from the leaves of the Malaleuca plant which is native to Australia. The medicinal benefits of tea Tree oil were discovered in the 1920s when the researcher Arthur Penfold discovered that it had antimicrobial properties. In fact, he discovered that it was 11 times stronger than phenol. Tea Tree oil was used extensively until the end of World War 2 when penicillin took over as the “go to” remedy for treating various conditions. Following World War 2, mainstream use of Tea Tree oil declined until the 1970s when people began to investigate natural remedies further. That’s great…but how does that benefit me? When applied topically, Tea Tree oil displays the following properties: Antiviral Antibacterial Antifungal Antiseptic Importantly for MRSA sufferers, when used topically, it has been proven in clinical studies to be more effective at preventing the transmission of MRSA than antibiotic creams. Can anybody use it? Unless you are allergic, pretty much anybody can use Tea Tree oil although pregnant women should avoid many essential oils. Also, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to dilute your Tea Tree oil before applying to your skin although this isn’t necessary for everyone. Personally I found that as a general rule, I did not need to dilute the Tea Tree oil before applying it to my skin. HOWEVER, if you intend to apply it to sensitive skin such as the armpits or groin (where MRSA often “hangs out”) you MUST dilute... read more

Dr Bronner’s bar soap will wash away bacteria…including MRSA.

Dr. Bronner's Organic Pure Castile Bar Soap - Tea Tree - 5 oz List Price: $7.19 Price: $7.19 You Save: N/A Did you know that bacteria can actually be washed off the skin quite simply? This simple “washing off process won’t work on any Staph bacteria that have already entered the body and infected a wound site or created a boil unfortunately. To use a military context, this is because they have “dug in”. However, the good news is that any bacteria ON the the skin can be washed away. This is great news for MRSA sufferers and I’ll tell you why… How can I actually wash off the MRSA bacteria and what are the benefits of doing so? All you need to do if jump in a hot shower and wash using soap. Based on my own experience, I personally recommend using a Tea Tree soap. This is because Tea Tree is known to kill bacteria, including MRSA. As such, any bacteria that do manage to “hang on” despite your attempt to wash them off are likely to have their numbers reduced even further due to the antibacterial nature of the Tea Tree oil present in the soap. In other words, the benefits of washing with a Tea Tree soap are that it reduces the likelihood of infection because the number of bacteria on your skin has been reduced.  It may not stop every bacterial attack but it will reduce the frequency of infection. When applied topically, Tea Tree oil displays antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic qualities. These properties transfer over to use in soaps so incorporating it... read more

Wash away MRSA with Dr Bronner’s Liquid Soap

Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Liquid Soap – Tea Tree 32oz. List Price: $15.99 Price: Too low to display You Save: N/A Did you know that bacteria on the skin can be washed away fairly easily? Unfortunately, the Staph bacteria that have already entered the body and infected a wound site or created a boil can’t be simply washed away. This is because they have “taken hold”. However, the fact that the bacteria still on the the skin can be washed away is great news for MRSA sufferers. I’ll tell you why in a minute… How can I wash off MRSA and what are the benefits? A hot shower and some soap will do the trick, although I recommend using a Tea Tree soap because Tea Tree is known to kill bacteria, including MRSA. As such, any bacteria that remain post wash will likely have their numbers reduced further due to the antibacterial nature of the Tea Tree present in the soap. In terms of benefits, washing in this way with a Tea Tree soap reduces the number of bacteria on your skin which will reduce the likelihood of infection. I’m not saying it will stop every bacterial attack but it will reduce the frequency of infection which is great news. When applied topically, Tea Tree oil displays antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic qualities and importantly for you and I, when used topically, it has been clinically proven to be more effective at preventing the transmission of MRSA than many antibiotic creams. So…incorporating it into your washing routine makes perfect sense doesn’t it… How do I chose a Tea Tree soap? ... read more

Blue light therapy is the biggest development in MRSA treatment in years.

One of the latest developments in fighting MRSA bacteria colonizing a persons skin is the use of “blue light” therapy devices. Usually used for treating skin conditions, particularly those affecting the face, blue light therapy devices have been found to eradicate MRSA. How does blue light therapy kill MRSA? Recent studies have shown that all bacteria, including MRSA are highly sensitive (i.e. can be killed by) light that is between 405-nm and 470-nm. Light in this spectrum is blue in color, hence the name. The other good news is that the bacteria are unable to develop a resistance to this form of treatment so the blue light just keeps on killing! : ) Where can I get blue light therapy to treat my MRSA infection? You have a few options here. You could contact a medical center that offers blue light therapy for their patients such as a beauty therapy clinic and ask them if they are prepared to treat your MRSA infection with one of their devices. Bear in mind though that due to the fact that MRSA is highly contagious they may well refuse. If that happens don’t despair because there is another option…blue light therapy devices can be found online fairly easily on places such as Amazon, the world’s largest online marketplace. Just do a search for Blue Light Therapy Device or just click here to get the Project E Beauty LED 3 Colors Photo-rejuvenation Kit Facial Beauty Care Massager. Be aware though that many of these devices are very expensive (i.e. hundreds of dollars) because the sellers are playing the MRSA card, and as such have... read more

Comvita UMF 18+ Manuka Honey 250g List Price: $132.85 Price: $132.85 You Save: N/A Honey has been used for thousands of years to clean wounds and fight bacteria. However, with the emergence of modern medicines, honey, like many “old school” treatments have been all but forgotten about until recently. As the “superbug” issue continues to grow at an alarming rate, more and more people, including leading medical researchers, are looking at the “old school alternatives” once again. Hold the phone…are you telling me that honey isn’t just good on toast? That’s exactly what I’m saying… Recent studies, including one done by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in Australia, have shown that Manuka honey used topically on wounds, is not only effective against bacteria, but when used in conjunction with modern antibiotics, prevents the bacteria from developing a resistance to the antibiotics being used. That is absolutely spectacular and great news for MRSA sufferers, whether they are suffering from infected wounds, boils, or both! In fact, Professor Liz Harry of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), in Australia who is stated that “Manuka honey should be used as a first resort for wound treatment, rather than the last resort, as it so often is.” In the United Kingdom, the National Health Service (NHS) has approved Manuka Honey to be used in wound dressings. So what is so good about it? Manuka honey has an antibacterial component that sets it apart from other honeys. This activity is stable and doesn’t lose its potency when exposed to dilution, heat or light. Manuka honey has been found to be effective against a... read more

Lemongrass Essential Oil destroys MRSA

Lemongrass 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil - 30 ml List Price: $19.60 Price: $19.60 You Save: N/A Lemongrass Essential oil, also known as Citronella oil is extracted from the leaves of Citronella grass and has been used in medicine for thousands of years Recent studies suggest that several essential oils have the ability to kill MRSA and Lemongrass is one of those oils. During my battle with MRSA I found Lemongrass essential oil to be very effective so I can hand on heart say that it worked for me. What are the benefits of Lemongrass Essential Oil? The properties of Lemongrass essential oil that are of medicinal importance include but are not limited to: Antiviral Antibacterial Anti-fungal Antiseptic For these reasons it is effective in killing a whole stack of “nasties”, not just MRSA. Is it safe to use? Lemongrass essential oil is perfectly safe when used topically (on the skin), however people with sensitive skin may want to dilute it in a carrier oil such as Olive oil first. This dilution is also required if you intend to use the oil on areas where the skin is more sensitive such as the groin and/or armpits. I might as well add at this time that Lemongrass essential oil is harmful if swallowed which is why I only suggest that it be used for topical treatment of boils and/or MRSA. As mentioned earlier, it is also very effective against other “nasties” so it can be uses for other conditions. Where can I find Lemongrass essential oil? In “pure” form, Lemongrass essential oil can be found at most shops that sell... read more

Probiotics…Support your immune system with some good bacteria.

Hyperbiotics PRO-15 Probiotics - 60 Daily Time Release Pearls - 15x More Effective than Probiotic Capsules with Patented Delivery Technology - Easy to Swallow Probiotic Supplement List Price: $24.95 Price: $24.95 You Save: N/A Probiotics are live bacteria that strengthen your immune system by augmenting the intestinal microbial population (the “good” bacteria in your gut). I’m not sure if you are aware of this or not but pharmaceutical drugs such as antibiotics kill both the “good” bacteria and the “bad” bacteria in your gut. This is bad because your immune system is strengthened by the presence of the “good” bacteria and once they have been killed by the antibiotics, you are at greater risk of either reinfection or other illnesses. Why should I supplement with Probiotics and how will I benefit? To maximize immune system strength and function, you need to have a high intake of probiotics in your diet. Probiotics are a “must have” as they will keep topping up the levels of “good” bacteria in your gut, increasing the strength of your immune system. Because a healthy and strong immune system is absolutely necessary if you want to fully recover from MRSA, probiotics should be an important part of your recovery strategy. This is especially important if you are currently on antibiotics or other pharmaceutical medicines to reduce the negative effect of these drugs on your immune strength. Can I get Probiotics from foods or do I need to take a supplement? There are a stack of foods that are high in Probiotics and as you would expect, they are great for strengthening your immune system. Raw sauerkraut and raw... read more
